-Examples from recent U.S. Court Decisions: See the chaos that lawyers’ errors have caused their clients
Exercises 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6:
Apply the concepts
Mark-up the supply contract to correct several errors in drafting
Understanding complicated clauses
-Tips on how to deconstruct them in order to learn to understand them
-Practice in simplifying clauses in order to explain them to business people
Exercises 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11:
Deconstruct long and difficult common law clauses and reword in simple language
Synthesize long clauses
English is not always English! Differences in communicating and drafting among Common Law countries
-Summary comparison of negotiating and drafting styles in the US, England, South Africa, Australia and India
